BREAKING: What Happened To Naira Marley Last Night
Law enforcement officials in Lagos State have apprehended the Afrobeats sensation, Naira Marley.
“Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley has been taken into custody for interrogation and other investigation activities,” Lagos police command spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin said late Tuesday.
Naira Marley is anticipated to cooperate with the police in their inquiry into the passing of his former protege, Ilerioluwa Aloba, more commonly known as MohBad.

Although the singer has faced allegations of involvement in MohBad’s demise, he has pledged to vindicate himself. Prior to the official statement from the police, he had already confirmed his return to Nigeria to assist in the investigation regarding his former protege’s passing.
“I’d like to share that I’ve just arrived back in Lagos, Nigeria to assist the authorities with the ongoing investigation,” he tweeted on Tuesday.
“It’s important I do my part for Imole. I’ll be meeting with the police with hopes for the truth to be uncovered and for justice to prevail.”
The events on Tuesday mark the most recent development in the wake of Mohbad’s untimely passing. His demise, shrouded in questionable circumstances and allegations of abuse preceding it, has prompted widespread calls for an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his death.
In the aftermath of his passing, Nigerians across various regions have rallied for justice, taking to the streets to voice their concerns about the singer’s tragic end. Despite Mohbad being laid to rest in less than two days, law enforcement authorities took the extraordinary step of exhuming his remains. Subsequently, an autopsy was performed, but the findings have not yet been disclosed.
The Federal Government has also taken an interest in the matter, with the Senate visiting the late singer’s family and observing a moment of silence in his honor. Furthermore, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called upon the Department of State Services (DSS) to participate in the investigation, assuring the public that justice will be served.
