CAF Announces Co-Hosts For 2024 African Nations Championship

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially confirmed that Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania will co-host the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN). The tournament is scheduled to take place from February 1 to February 28, 2025. CAF has promised that details regarding the host stadiums and training venues will be announced soon.

The first round of qualifiers for the tournament is set to begin on the weekend of October 25-27, 2024, followed by another round from December 20-22 and December 27-29, 2024. Notably, the co-hosts will also compete in the qualifiers but have secured automatic qualification due to their hosting status.

This announcement builds excitement for the upcoming championship, which features players from national league competitions. Since the tournament’s inception in 2009, Nigeria’s CHAN Eagles have yet to claim the title. DR Congo and Morocco are the most successful nations, each having won the tournament twice, alongside previous winners Tunisia, Libya, and the reigning champions, Senegal.
