Battle For 2023: Why Wike’s Best Bet Is To Work With Tinubu(All You Need To Know)

Here is an intriguing analysis from our comment session on permutations for the  Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike’s choice of presidential candidate to support.

Wike knows his best bet is Tinubu. Why? Because his immunity will soon end and he must back the winner. The question is who is most likely to win? Atiku and Obi cannot win unless they merge. Obi cannot step down for Atiku or he loses face and Atiku did not come this far to step down for Obi. Because of the Un strategic ill thought out move by Obi to leave PDP and pick the ticket of Labour, they are now constitutionally barred from a joint ticket so it is one or the other!!

Furthermore, The only person who is helped by Wike’s endorsement is Tinubu, Wike endorsing Obi doesn’t help Obi where he really needs votes….the North, Wike endorsing Atiku only preserves his Rivers votes but doesn’t replace the votes lost to Obi.

Wike endorsing Atiku or Obi only keeps them in the race, it is not a victory coup. However, whoever of the 2 Wike does not endorse is effectively out of the race!! He could work for either and still lose !!!!

In Tinubu’s case, Wike failing to endorse Tinubu is not a big deal but with Wike’s endorsement, The race is over before it starts. Wike cannot be the difference in the victory of Atiku or Obi but he can be the guarantee of victory for Tinubu.

The man who gets you over (or guarantees you get over) the line is your real kingmaker, not the guy who only maintains you in the race. Therefore Wike is more valuable to Tinubu than the others. A true politician knows this., therefore if Wike is smart, his best interest is served to work for Tinubu!!!

Wike cannot afford to back someone who is not assured of victory, he cannot afford to be on the losing side or he is finished!!!!! That is all you need to know about who Wike will work for!!!!
