Dennis Idahosa And The Face Of Hope For A Better Nigeria

The best definition of better can be stated as More Desirable, Satisfactory or Effective.

A few people asked me if there’s any reason to hope for Nigeria to get better, this is my 2 naira worth; Nigeria can be great if every citizen plays a role in Nation building.

The prospect of moving to a new nation is daunting. It sounds like something that only a guy like Abraham Lincoln could do, this is actually untrue.

We, as citizens and elected officials, all have duties to play in making the country a better place. We were once regular citizens before we became anything else in life; in other words, we were born as Nigerians first, before tribe/religion, personality, and so on.

During my discussion of how we as citizens and elected officials can play a significant role in changing the country for the better, I was asked a challenging question by an inquisitive respondent. This question served as the inspiration for my post for today.

I was asked to identify only one elected politician from Nigeria who, in my opinion, embodies the possibility of a better Nigeria and give my reasons why. Even though the question may appear straightforward, I was put in the difficult situation of having to name just one person who meets the performance, dedication, and commitment requirements of each member of my audience.

Hon Dennis Idahosa, the legislator representing Ovia Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, was a fantastic example for me of a lawmaker who has had a positive impact on his community while being motivated and dedicated to serving the people.

This leads us to the following subject, why Dennis Idahosa?

Kindness is the first act of every citizen and elected representative of the people in fulfilling their civic obligation to the nation. A basic grasp of the power of kindness has the potential to transform our country.

Kindness is a natural component of the human heart, perhaps more so than unkindness. When we are kind, our bodies get healthier, and our thoughts become more balanced. It benefits us, not just individuals. On a worldwide scale, kindness does us good, with each type of activity making a difference in the lives of untold millions of others.

Dennis Idahosa is a kind man who puts the needs of his community before his own financial and personal gain. This distinguishes him from other people and makes him patriotic. For example, Dennis has built numerous bridges, schools, and public health facilities and so on ,however, this does not make him out to be a KIND man.

His desire to ensure that all of his projects are completed with the highest quality and precision goes a long way toward demonstrating his kindness to his people, his projects are scattered throughout Ovia federal constituency, and he supervises them every week from the foundation laying ceremony to completion.

This is where his compassion and love for his constituents come into play. We are all aware that the country’s current security situation is not ideal, but the lawmaker is frequently on the highways making sure  he tours each project site scattered across his consistency.

What else is there to be said about empathy? On the floor of the house, Dennis Idahosa makes sure to draw attention to issues that are a danger to the country as well as those that affect his constituents.

He has pushed for a number of initiatives, such as the construction of roads and the installation of electricity, that would benefit Nigerians as a whole. I remember how often he referred failing sections of our highways, etc. to FERMA.

His interventions in environmental deterioration around Ovia demonstrate how humane a legislator can be; not only has Dennis demonstrated an amazing enthusiasm for serving his people, but he’s also committed to leaving a legacy of mentorship for others to follow.

Dennis Idahosa has shown to be a face of hope for a better Nigeria by his actions, words, and behavior. Being kind is contagious because it is in our nature. When we observe someone being kind, we want to reciprocate.
