Don Jazzy Advises Label Bosses To Treat Artists With Dignity
According to Ireporter Online, music executive Don Jazzy has called on record label owners to show respect to their artists. The music mogul shared his insights on the dynamics between labels and talent, emphasizing the need to empower artists from the start.
On social media platform X, Don Jazzy advised emerging label heads to treat their signees as superstars from day one, providing the support and respect necessary to help them thrive. He explained that his management style allows artists to take the spotlight 90% of the time, with his involvement limited to critical guidance.
He further observed that some new label executives may attempt to emulate his “Don” persona but fail by focusing on the wrong elements. He stressed that nurturing talent and giving artists creative freedom is more effective than trying to control them.
Don Jazzy stated, “I might be wrong, but I’ve noticed some record label bosses don’t respect their artists. If your goal is to build a superstar, start from day one by giving them the respect they deserve. Most new label bosses look up to me but copy the wrong things from my persona. I let my artists shine 90% of the time and only step in as necessary.”
