Drama As Doctor Arrested For Organ Harvesting ‘Runs Mad’ In Cell

Dr. Noah Kekere, the physician accused of wrongfully removing a woman’s kidney in Jos, the capital of Plateau State, displayed signs of mental distress while in police custody on Saturday evening.

Kekere was apprehended on Wednesday after a report was filed at the Nasarawa Gown police division regarding the removal of Mrs. Kehinde Kamal’s right kidney during a surgery in 2018.

Following his erratic behavior in the police cell, Kekere was swiftly taken to the Psychiatric unit of Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH).

A source from the police headquarters confirmed that the suspected wrongdoer began tearing his clothes and exhibiting behavior akin to that of a “mad” person.

“This prompted the police to transport him to Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) in handcuffs,” the source stated.

Another source from the hospital confirmed that Kekere was admitted to the psychiatric department.

Upon arrival, he was reportedly screaming and shouting, expressing concern for his daughter’s safety.

Heavy police presence has been noted around the Psychiatric unit of the hospital.

DSP Alabo Alfred, the spokesperson for the state police command, did not respond to inquiries.

Prior to his arrest, Dr. Kekere had been practicing medicine, including surgery, for over two decades at his Murna Clinic and Maternity, located in the Yanshanu Community of Jos North Local Government Area.
