This development coincided with an attempted arrest of Bello by EFCC operatives at his residence in Abuja. The EFCC is pursuing legal action against the ex-governor for alleged offenses including money laundering and misappropriation of funds amounting to ₦80.2 billion.

To advance its case, the EFCC sought an arrest warrant from the Federal High Court in Abuja through an ex parte motion. Justice Emeka Nwite granted the motion, ordering the immediate arrest of Bello and instructing him to appear before the court for arraignment on April 18.

However, with the Court of Appeal’s failure to hear the EFCC’s appeal, the legal battle against Bello faces a delay. The outcome of this delay could impact the trajectory of the EFCC’s efforts to bring Bello to justice.
