Okolie emphasized the need to address the shortage of medical professionals and took proactive steps by collaborating with the Enugu State Government to increase the admission capacity for the Nursing Sciences Department at ESUT.
These remarks came as Okolie welcomed the Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria (TOPREC) and Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) for the accreditation of ESUT’s Urban and Regional Planning and Architecture Departments.
While acknowledging the challenging economic conditions in Nigeria and their impact on the populace’s standard of living, Okolie urged fellow vice-chancellors to allocate funds prudently for the development of their respective institutions.
Professors Bolanle Wahab and C. B Chukwudi, the chairpersons of the TOPREC and ARCON accreditation teams, stressed the importance of aligning ESUT’s programs with professional standards during their interactions with the university’s management. They encouraged the departments involved to ensure transparency and cooperation for successful accreditation exercises.
