Fake EFCC Operative Gets 3-Year Sentence In Kaduna
In a decisive verdict, a High Court in Kaduna State has handed down a three-year prison sentence to Abdulazeez Isah for his audacious masquerade as an operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)….READ ALSO EFCC Hunts Down Emefiele’s Wife And Accomplices In Alleged $6.2M Scandal
Isah faced a single-count charge of impersonation brought forth by the Kaduna Zonal Command of the EFCC. The charge outlined his deceptive actions in falsely presenting himself as an EFCC staff member to the public, a violation of Section 142(1) of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law, 2017.
Upon apprehension, Isah confessed to funding the production of counterfeit EFCC T-shirts, identity cards, and caps, all of which were discovered in his possession. In a swift turn of events, he pleaded guilty to the charges during the court proceedings.
Justice A. Isiaka wasted no time in delivering a verdict, convicting Isah and sentencing him to three years behind bars. Alternatively, Isah faces a fine of N150,000 (One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira).
This outcome serves as a stark reminder of the consequences awaiting those who attempt to exploit the authority and integrity of law enforcement agencies for personal gain.
