Federal Government Pulls The Plug On Visa-On-Arrival Policy, Tunji-Ojo Breaks The Silence

Dr. Tunji-Ojo, who chaired a meeting on the New Visa Policy (NVP) alongside the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mrs. Kemi Nanna Nandap, revealed that the new visa strategy would be far-reaching and supported by technological advancements.

The Minister said, “I presided over a meeting on Nigeria’s New Visa Policy 2025 (NVP 2025) alongside the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nanna Nandap. This policy is aimed at improving business operations, fostering tourism, and strengthening international relations.”

The new visa framework introduces a more efficient approval process, including the e-Visa system, as a distinct method for obtaining Nigerian visas. Dr. Tunji-Ojo emphasized that the updated policy aligns with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and aims to balance national security with economic and tourism growth.
