Federal Polytechnic Nekede Takes Disciplinary Measures Against Lecturer Over Viral Student Assault

In the video, Ifeanyichukwu was seen slapping and kicking the student, causing him to fall on a concrete walkway. The footage sparked widespread criticism online.

In response, the institution issued a letter on Friday, signed by the Director of the Technical and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (TEDC), Dr. Okoye P.C., and copied to the Rector, Dean of Student Affairs, and the Student Union Government. The letter, dated March 14, 2025, confirmed the lecturer’s suspension pending an investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, Ifeanyichukwu has issued a formal apology to the student, acknowledging his actions as unprofessional and expressing regret for the distress caused. He also pledged to change his behavior and ensure a safer learning environment for students.
