Final-Year Student Found Dead in Ekpoma Days After Disappearance
Tragedy has struck the academic community of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, as a final-year student identified simply as Blessing was discovered dead within her residence five days after she was declared missing.
According to IReporter Online, the deceased, a student of the Department of Microbiology, was last seen on campus shortly after participating in an examination earlier in the week. Sources close to the incident said she was reportedly abducted, as suggested by distress messages allegedly sent from her mobile phone demanding ransom.
The Edo State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that law enforcement officers, acting on intelligence, stormed her residence where they found her decomposing remains. The disturbing discovery was made within the compound, raising serious questions about the nature and circumstances of her death.
Police spokesperson, Moses Yamu, confirmed the incident to reporters, stating that investigations have commenced to unravel the cause of death and identify those responsible.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the university and surrounding community, with many expressing outrage and grief over what appears to be another grim case of campus-related violence.
