Former Governor Osunbor Declares For Edo Governorship Race

Former Edo State Governor, Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor, announced his candidacy for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket in the upcoming 2024 governorship election in the state.

Speaking to journalists at the APC state secretariat in Benin City, Prof. Osunbor expressed his awareness of the challenges faced by the people of Edo and pledged to alter the narrative if given the party’s ticket and subsequently elected as governor in the 2024 election.

Following his declaration, the leadership of the state chapter of the APC acknowledged Prof. Osunbor’s capacity to lead Edo to a commendable position, endorsing him as a candidate with the potential to bring positive change to the state if given the opportunity in 2024.

He added: “I have the experience and integrity, having been in the office as governor for a short time. I will deliver good governance if given the ticket and win the election.”

Osunbor sought the backing of party leaders, assuring them that he would elevate the state to new heights based on his distinguished political career. During his tenure as governor from May 2007 to November 2008, he achieved commendable feats.

The former governor received a warm welcome from the state secretary, Mr. Lawrence Okah, the state Youth Leader, Mr. Tony “Kabaka” Adun, and various other party members.
