Governor Otu Disbands Civil Service Group In Cross River
The Cross River State Government has described a group known as Cross River State Civil Service Forum as illegal and ordered it to disband immediately.
This was disclosed in a letter signed today by Dr Innocent Eteng, Head of Service in the state.
The letter reads: “The attention of government has been drawn to the illegal creation of an obnoxious platform called ‘Cross River State Civil Service Forum’ by some aggrieved civil servants.
“All civil and public servants are reminded by this notice that any association, union, or group of persons not recognised by law is prohibited and hereby disbanded with immediate effect.
“While government respects citizens’ right to freedom of assembly, it shall, however, not tolerate the operations of groups with the civil/public service that tend to constitute a nuisance to the present administration by whatever guise.”
