Speaking exclusively on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Governor Sani emphasized the stark difference between the insurgency in the northeast and the banditry and kidnapping crisis gripping the northwest.

According to Governor Sani, the northwest crisis is fundamentally an economic issue, intricately linked to the desperation bred by poverty and lack of opportunity. Bandits exploit these vulnerabilities, resorting to kidnappings for ransom, tragically resulting in loss of lives when payments are delayed.

Drawing attention to alarming statistics, Governor Sani highlighted that a staggering 80 to 90% of Northwestern residents live below the poverty line, with a disproportionate number of out-of-school children hailing from this region.

Governor Sani underscored the urgency of addressing these systemic issues, stressing that while dealing with criminals is necessary, it is merely one facet of a multifaceted solution. The crux lies in addressing the root causes: poverty, unemployment, and lack of education.
