Gratitude: Asari Dokubo’s Testimony  Validates Tinubu’s Victory  At APC Convention, Matters Arising

“Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” (Luke 6:38)

Former Ijaw warlord and noted human rights campaigner Asari Dokubo was seen in a recent video on social media attesting to Tinubu’s kindness. Tinubu assisted Asari in his moment of need, according to the short clip.

Asari stated, “When I was in prison, Tinubu was so kind to me, he paid my children’s school fees, he gave me a house at VGC, he gave my wife a house at Ogba”

What does the Bible say about giving? The more one gives, the more one receives. No one knew this better than Jesus, who had freely offered his life, reaping eternal rewards in the process.

When Tinubu did this favor for Dokubo, he was not running for president, nor was he interested in laying siege to the Niger Delta economy, as critics claimed he did to the Lagos economy. Dokubo mentioned in the same video how Tinubu offered this assistance without notifying him and without demanding anything in return.

Since Tinubu’s victory in the APC presidential primaries, some people have wondered what made Tinubu defeat other aspirants, some of whom were probably their first choice. Various of these people would allege Asiwaju was unfit to fly the flag due to some amusing reasons or monetary inducement.

Tinubu was rewarded for his generosity and nothing else, preceding the APC presidential primaries when we were scared at a time that Tinubu was already schemed out of contention due to the powerful forces of an imaginary cabal a certain confidant of mine assured me that as long as the primaries were held Tinubu would win whether there was a consensus or not.

He went on to explain that even if Buhari carries any other person’s hand on the day of the primaries and says, “This is my anointed one,” and 20 other contestants stand down for the president’s choice, Tinubu would still win. I asked how that was possible, and he cited Tinubu’s goodwill.

Remember how Tinubu used his resources to help restore stolen mandates in Osun, Ondo, Edo, and other states? What was the financial gain for Tinubu in expending billions of naira to fund such ventures? Absolutely nothing.

The Concepts of Luke 6:34 in the Bible states that “If you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners in order to receive back the same amount.”

The idea here is that throughout the history of modern Nigerian politics, how many politicians have had an impact on their own constituency, talk less more of having an impact on the lives of others across various regions?

As Lagos State Governor Tinubu’s cabinet included so many non-Lagos residents as commissioners, do you believe Tinubu ever assumed he would be rewarded in return? A good deed deserves another, and Asiwaju was merely compensated for his kindness with his victory at the primaries

What are the problems we complain about in Nigeria if not a lack of concern on the part of the relevant authorities? The lack of care is prominent in terms of health, education, security, and housing, among many other maladies confronting us as a society. We require a leader who, regardless of geographical zone, has empathy for the people.

Asari Dokubo has once again lived according to the words of John Fitzgerald Kennedy ”  As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”

We’ve heard from Nigerians all over the country about how Tinubu has influenced their lives; thank you, Asari Dokubo, for telling the truth; you truly live by your words.
