Gumsu Abacha Divorces Gov. Buni (WHAT HAPPENED)
The marriage between Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni and Gumsu Sani Abacha has officially ended in divorce. Gumsu Abacha, daughter of the late military head of state Sani Abacha, revealed the divorce on her X handle @G_sparking while responding to a commenter who referred to her as “First Lady.”

She shared a picture on Sunday with the caption “Emancipation… Liberation,” sparking comments and discussions. An inside source confirmed that the marriage had ended “some months ago.”
The marriage between Governor Buni and Gumsu Abacha took place on April 14, 2021, with a ceremony held at her elder brother’s residence in Abuja.
The divorce follows Gumsu’s previous marriage to Cameroonian billionaire Bayero Mohamadou, which ended in 2020 after 20 years.
