Gunmen Abduct Three University Of Calabar Students From Hostel

The abducted students have been identified as Ojang Precious Ebejin, a 200-level student of the Department of Medicine and Surgery; Ugwu Chukwuemeka, a 300-level student of the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology; and Damilola Dickson, a final-year student of the same department.

SP Irene Ugbo, the spokesperson for the Cross River State Police Command, confirmed the abduction, stating that the command, in collaboration with other security agencies, has launched a manhunt to rescue the victims.

The incident occurred on Thursday night at one of the university’s hostels within the campus premises. However, no further details regarding the abduction were provided by the police spokesperson.

Efforts are underway by law enforcement agencies to ensure the safe return of the abducted students, with Ugbo emphasizing that they are working diligently to secure their rescue.
