Head Of Service Announces Half Of Directors Fail Permanent Secretary Exam
Out of the 38 directors who sat for the qualifying examination to become permanent secretaries in the Federal Civil Service, half did not pass. A memo from the OHCSF, dated October 7, 2024, and signed by the Head of Service, Didi Walson-Jack, clarified that directors currently under disciplinary actions were not eligible for the process. The memo also confirmed that President Bola Tinubu had approved the appointments.
Providing an update, OHCSF Director of Press, Eno Olotu, stated that of the 38 eligible directors, 19 passed the first stage and will now proceed to the second stage, which will test their competency in using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in government operations on November 13, 2024.
The recruitment process, which is highly competitive, consists of three stages, designed to identify the most qualified candidates. Those who pass the second stage will move on to the final phase on Friday, November 15, 2024, where a panel of senior civil servants and private sector experts will conduct the final evaluation.
