How APC Can Win 2024 Governorship Election In Edo – Airhiavbere
The former Executive Director, Finance and Administration of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Maj.-Gen Charles Airhiavbere (rtd.), has revealed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has the potential to secure victory in the Edo State governorship election scheduled for September 21, 2024, by presenting a highly qualified candidate.

Speaking in Benin on Sunday, December 17, Airhiavbere emphasized the crucial role of selecting the right candidate to generate widespread support for the APC among the people of Edo.

He said: “In the Edo State 2024 governorship election, the APC will thrive with the right candidate, and I have the reach and qualifications to win the election.
“I supported the election of the present Edo Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, in 2016 on APC’s platform. In 2020, I was part of the seven aspirants who agreed to the consensus that produced Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as the standard bearer of APC. It is my turn to try.”
The gubernatorial aspirant, whose manifesto is coined as “PIE” representing Peace, Infrastructural Development, and Economic Prosperity, highlighted that his pursuit of the party ticket revolves around these three fundamental pillars. He emphasized the interconnected nature of these elements, considering them essential for building a better society for all.
He said: “For anything to happen in any environment -even in our homes – there must be peace. Without a peaceful Edo State, there will be no food security. You cannot even attract investors to the state and the people cannot have the best life.
“A robust infrastructure is the backbone of any prosperous state. I will prioritise infrastructural development by investing in modern transportation systems, sustainable energy initiatives, and upgraded technology networks.
“I will implement policies that will stimulate job creation, encourage entrepreneurship and support small businesses.”
Airhiavbere further expressed his intention to create a favorable environment for innovation and investment, with the goal of enhancing economic growth and ensuring equitable distribution of benefits among all residents of Edo.
