He disclosed that he struggled to overcome his addiction during the COVID-19 lockdown period.

During a recent interview with The Beat 99.9 FM in Lagos, the ‘Dem Mama’ crooner described his journey as a “tough battle.”

He stated, “I am not perfect. I have had my struggles with drugs. Breaking free from drugs was incredibly challenging; it was a fierce battle.

“I got introduced to drugs during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. Everyone was stuck at home, and there were these young guys in my house who always seemed to be so cheerful. I wondered, ‘How are you guys happier than me? I’m the boss; I have money.’ So, I asked them what they were on, and they told me about molly.

“When I tried it, I felt euphoric beyond words. I was so elated that I emptied my pockets of all my money. I wanted to continue feeling that way. That’s how I began losing weight. I stopped eating; I just wanted to be happy. But how can you depend on a substance to find happiness? True happiness should come naturally. However, when you start relying on substances for happiness, it replaces your natural joy, and you end up purchasing happiness.

“When I say I was using molly, I was taking about three pills every day, and it felt like medication.”
