I Have No O’Level” — Ibrahim Chatta Opens Up On Why He Hates Being Called Underrated

According to Ireporter Online, Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta has addressed the recurring description of him as an “underrated” figure in the Nigerian film industry, stating that he does not agree with the label.

Speaking during a recent interview with Akin Abolade, the actor reflected on his personal journey, noting that his limited educational background has made his achievements even more meaningful. Chatta revealed that he did not complete formal education and does not possess an O-level certificate, adding that this perspective makes him deeply appreciative of how far he has come in his career.

He explained that when he compares his journey with some of his colleagues in the industry, he is filled with gratitude rather than dissatisfaction, stressing that his progress is a result of grace. In his words, he suggested that based on formal education alone, he would have been in a much lower position, but life had taken him in a different direction.

The actor further stated that he often feels uncomfortable when people describe him as underrated, insisting that he does not believe he deserves all that he has achieved, attributing his success to divine grace. He emphasized that he does not take his accomplishments for granted.

While rejecting the “underrated” tag, Chatta acknowledged that fans use the term out of love and admiration for his craft. He also expressed pride that his work is now appreciated across different levels of society, including by graduates and professors who engage with his productions, describing it as a blessing and a testament to his growth in the industry.
