I Wasn’t Ready!’ – Kaffy Breaks Silence On Divorce

Popular Nigerian dancer, Kaffy Shafau, has opened up about the reasons behind her divorce, revealing that she entered marriage without adequate preparation. Speaking during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Kaffy reflected on her experience since ending her marriage to Joseph Ameh in January 2022.

According to Ireporter Online, she stated that many people, including herself, approach marriage without a full understanding of its responsibilities and challenges. Kaffy emphasized that guidance from parents is often insufficient to equip individuals for the realities of married life.

She suggested that marriage should be treated as a learned discipline, requiring proper training and preparation rather than being entered lightly. The mother of two highlighted the contrast between the ease of obtaining a marriage certificate and the rigorous preparation needed for other life milestones, such as acquiring a driver’s license.

Kaffy further stressed the importance of mental health evaluations and counseling, suggesting mandatory requirements such as drug tests, couples therapy, and structured programs in human behavioral sciences before marriage. She explained that such measures could prevent harm to both partners and future children, ensuring a more stable foundation for society.
