I’m A Stubborn Politician, I’ll Campaign For Second Term’ – Bola Tinubu (Video)
President Bola Tinubu has affirmed his intention to seek re-election in 2027, insisting that rising insecurity in parts of the country will not deter him from completing his tenure.
According to Ireporter Online, the President made the declaration while receiving Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang alongside other stakeholders from the state at the Presidential Villa.
Tinubu cautioned that attempts to politicize the nation’s security challenges were being exploited by his opponents and external interests seeking to undermine his administration.
“You are playing to the hand of agents, including my own enemies, who want to use insecurity to get rid of me,” he said.
Reiterating his determination to remain in office despite mounting criticism over insecurity, including cases of kidnappings and violent attacks in different regions, the President described himself as resolute in the face of opposition pressure.
“I’m a very stubborn politician. I just refuse to go. And I will campaign for my second term,” he stated.
His remarks come amid growing public concern over persistent security threats across the country, with opposition figures and civil society organisations urging the Federal Government to intensify efforts to address the situation.
The Presidency, however, maintains that security agencies are being adequately supported to combat criminal activities and restore stability nationwide.
Tinubu, who assumed office in May 2023, is expected to complete his first term in 2027, when Nigerians will head to the polls for the next presidential election.
