The teacher in question, Tayabah Jadwat, allegedly referred to three black pupils as “monkeys” after they were reportedly disruptive during class. The school management’s handling of the incident has sparked controversy.

Curro Holdings, the school’s owner, released a statement acknowledging the incident, stating that an investigation was initiated after becoming aware of the allegations last Friday. The incident is believed to have occurred during the first term of the previous year.

While no formal complaint was lodged at the time, the executive head of the school informed the Curro head office promptly upon learning of the allegations.

In response, Curro suspended the teacher immediately and launched a disciplinary inquiry in line with the group’s policies. The investigation will proceed following due process over the coming week.
