Jandor resigned from the PDP, citing internal party conflicts and accusing party leaders, including Bode George, of undermining his governorship bid. His spokesperson, Gbenga Ogunleye, described the meeting with Tinubu as part of ongoing high-level consultations, which also included former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-President Ibrahim Babangida.

According to Ogunleye, Jandor will consult with key stakeholders in Lagos over the weekend and address the media on Monday, March 17, 2025, to clarify his political direction.
