Jigawa Aims For Agricultural Breakthrough With Strategic Collaborations
The Jigawa State Government is forging partnerships with regional organizations to establish a state-owned Agricultural Transformation Agency aimed at revolutionizing its agricultural sector. during a meeting at the Government House in Dutse with representatives from the African Agricultural Transformation Initiative (AATI) and the Development Sovereign Group. The collaboration aims to implement sustainable agricultural reforms over the next three to four years by leveraging the expertise of these institutions.
Expressing his appreciation, Governor Namadi said, “We are delighted to host the Executive Director and Managing Director of these esteemed institutions. This partnership aligns perfectly with our vision for Jigawa State.” He emphasized that the initiative will enhance productivity, foster innovation, and create economic opportunities across the agricultural value chain.
The governor also highlighted that the Jigawa State 2025 budget has already allocated resources for the establishment of the Agricultural Transformation Agency, demonstrating the state’s commitment to economic growth and sustainable development.
Ms. Safia Boly, Executive Director of AATI, praised Governor Namadi’s visionary leadership and reiterated her organization’s dedication to supporting Jigawa’s agricultural journey. “We are thrilled to contribute our expertise to your transformative agenda,” she stated.
Dr. Khalid Bomba, CEO of the Development Sovereign Group, drew comparisons between Jigawa’s ambitions and Ethiopia’s agricultural transformation 15 years ago, expressing optimism about the potential impact of the collaboration.
This partnership is expected to yield significant results, supporting Jigawa’s development goals and its drive toward a robust and innovative agricultural sector.
