Jonathan Should Guard His Legacy, Atiku & Obi Already Defeated — Oshiomhole Roars on Channels TV

Senator Adams Oshiomhole—nicknamed Oshioquake for his political grassroots prowess—set Channels Television’s Sunday Politics alight with his signature bluntness, cautioning former President Goodluck Jonathan against a 2027 comeback while savaging the much-hyped Atiku Abubakar–Peter Obi alliance.

On Jonathan: Legacy or Futility?

“How can Jonathan be a threat? We defeated him before, when PDP was truly PDP. Only his enemies will push him into the ring,” Oshiomhole declared.

He urged Jonathan to preserve the dignity he gained after leaving office, pointing to his 2015 concession speech as his crowning glory. “If I were him, I would maintain this status and spend the rest of my life consolidating the influence he has already built,” Oshiomhole added, warning that another run would end in certain defeat and tarnish the statesmanship Jonathan earned out of office.

Predicting that APC would “defeat him flatly,” Oshiomhole stressed that Jonathan has lost his home turf: “Now the South-South is no longer PDP. So where is he going to start from?” he asked, arguing that the political terrain had shifted permanently.

On Atiku & Obi: “Defeated Together, Defeated Apart”

Oshiomhole didn’t hold back when the conversation turned to Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. He dismissed their rumored collaboration as an exercise in futility, describing them as political actors with nothing new to offer.

“When these two ran together, they were roundly defeated by the APC. When they ran separately, they were still defeated. So even if they come together, they will still be defeated,” he declared, drawing laughter from the audience.

He accused Atiku of playing politics even with matters of national grief, while mocking the idea that Obi’s “youthful fanfare” could upend a seasoned political machine like APC. In Oshiomhole’s view, both men are chasing shadows while Tinubu’s camp builds on a foundation of continuity and national influence.

Oshiomhole’s appearance went beyond mere commentary; it set the strategic tone for 2027. He cast the APC as the frontrunner, urged Jonathan to uphold his statesmanlike legacy by steering clear of detractors, and suggested that Atiku and Obi continue to face steep challenges in gaining lasting support.

For the die-hard BATist, the 2027 battlefield is already mapped out — and victory, he insists, is firmly in Tinubu’s corner.
