Just In: Missing Lawmaker Discovered Lifeless At 2nd Niger Bridge(Photos)

The decomposing body of Hon. Justice Azuka, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, was discovered at the 2nd Niger Bridge by a joint security task force.

Azuka, a prominent figure in the Labour Party (LP), had recently reclaimed his legislative seat after a court nullified the victory of Hon. Douglas Egbuna of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who was initially declared the winner of the 2023 election.

Tragically, just days after his legal victory, Azuka was kidnapped in a swift operation lasting under five minutes.

A security source confirmed to Ireporteronline hat the suspects responsible for Azuka’s abduction and murder were apprehended late Wednesday night. The culprits led the authorities to the location where his body was dumped.

The source stated, “The perpetrators of the kidnapping and murder have been arrested. They guided security operatives to the site where they left his body. This is a heartbreaking loss. May his soul rest in peace. Our deepest condolences go to his family, the Obi of Onitsha, Dr. Alfred Achebe, and the people of Onitsha North Constituency 1.”

The source also mentioned a recent spike in criminal activity in Onitsha: “Just two nights ago, kidnappers launched another attack on Awka Road, firing multiple shots during an attempted abduction.”

As of this report, Anambra State Police Command spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga has not released an official statement on the incident.
