The media adviser to Senator Adeola, Chief Kayode Odunaro, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja.

According to the statement, Mr. Sanni was stopped at a checking point around Berger Area of Lagos while on his way home at Isheri by security agents.

He was asked to provide the documents of the car he was driving, and his wife sent all the documents to his phone via WhatsApp.

Later, Mr. Sanni’s wife called him, but he informed her that they were still checking the vehicle’s papers. When she could no longer reach him, she alerted his associates, and a search party was mobilized.

Passersby later called Mr. Sanni’s wife through the Next of Kin phone number on his driver’s license and informed her that his body was dumped around Toyota Bus Stop in Oshodi with gunshot wounds.

Senator Adeola, who is currently involved in the ongoing ministerial screening at the Senate, was shocked and devastated by the news of the incident, as Mr. Sanni had been his close aide for over two decades. The Nigeria Police Force is currently investigating the killing.
