Addressing journalists, Adeniyi emphasized that customs officials are prohibited from participating in the distribution process, ensuring fairness and transparency. The initiative targets various segments of society, including artisans, teachers, nurses, and religious bodies, aiming to provide affordable food options to Nigerians within its operational areas.

To streamline the distribution process, Adeniyi highlighted the importance of direct communication with members through structured systems, ensuring the efficiency of the initiative while cautioning against the resale of food items to maintain transparency.

Videos circulating online depict the excitement and anticipation among residents as they collect their bags of rice under the watchful eye of customs officials. To secure a bag of the coveted ‘Customs Rice’ at the Lagos Customs zonal office in Yaba, residents need only present their National Identification Number (NIN) and have N10,000 at the ready.
