Makinde Wins Praise Over New Surveillance Aircraft Purchase

The party described the purchase as a significant step toward improving public safety and protecting lives and property across Oyo State.

In a statement issued by its National Chairman, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, the APM said the two DA 42 MNG aircraft were equipped with advanced intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance technology capable of detecting targets from both low and high altitudes.

The party stated that the aircraft would support security agencies operating in the state, including the Amotekun Corps, in efforts to tackle terrorism, banditry, kidnapping for ransom and related crimes.

Dantalle said the decision was consistent with the constitutional responsibility of government to ensure the security and welfare of citizens, citing Section 14(2)(b) of the 1999 Constitution.

He described Governor Makinde as a leader who has demonstrated strong leadership capacity, administrative competence and commitment to safeguarding residents, adding that effective security remains essential for democracy and development.

The APM also praised what it called Makinde’s visionary and inclusive style of governance, saying his policies have contributed to the transformation of Oyo State.

The party urged residents to continue supporting the administration and emphasised that the welfare of citizens should remain the central focus of democratic governance.

Dantalle further expressed confidence in Makinde’s ability to provide similar leadership at the national level if elected president in the 2027 general elections.

He said the governor possesses the political will and experience required to drive national progress, development and prosperity, and called on Nigerians to support the APM and its candidates in future elections in the interest of improved security, unity and economic advancement.
