According to the Prosecutor, Insp. Chidi Leo, Aliyu trespassed into the shop of Adanna Ebuka under the guise of buying bread and made away with her purse. Fortunately, the purse was recovered during a subsequent police investigation.

Despite pleading guilty to the theft charge, the 30-year-old suspect was handed the unusual punishment by Magistrate Ibrahim Emmanuel, who commended Aliyu for saving the court time with his guilty plea.

Considering Aliyu’s status as a first-time offender, the magistrate advised him to refrain from criminal activities in the future, emphasizing the court’s stance against violence.
