Several persons have been feared dead following a fire incident at the Nembe/Bille Jetty in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
The incident, which happened on Monday morning, was said to have burnt the persons to death. It also destroyed fibre and wooden boats at the facility.

As of the time of this report, authorities are yet to make a statement about the incident.
Monday’s inferno followed a similar one in the oil-rich city, November 2021, which also claimed several lives.
The boats were reportedly discharging some refined petroleum products at the jetty when the fire started.
