Medical Air Ambulance Crashes In Philadelphia, Killing Six
philadelphia, USA – A medical transport aircraft carrying six people, including a child who had recently completed treatment for a serious medical condition, crashed into a residential area in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. triggering a massive explosion that ignited multiple homes, as seen in footage aired by local media.
Jet Rescue Air Ambulance, the aircraft’s operator, confirmed that four crew members were on board along with the child and her mother, who were on their way home. In a statement, the company said it could not verify any survivors. Later, Mexico’s foreign ministry confirmed that all six victims were Mexican citizens.
The child had been receiving treatment at Shriners Children’s Philadelphia hospital and was being transported back to her home country when the crash occurred. According to Jet Rescue spokesperson Shai Gold, the aircraft was scheduled to make a stop in Missouri before continuing to Tijuana, Mexico—about 1,800 kilometers (1,100 miles) southwest of Philadelphia. Mel Bower, a spokesperson for the hospital, confirmed that the patient was being flown via a contracted air ambulance service.
Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker described the scene as an “all hands on deck” emergency, as firefighters and emergency responders worked to contain the blaze and assess the destruction. Several homes and vehicles were set ablaze. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro extended his condolences to those affected, stating, “We know there will be loss in this region,” and offering prayers for the victims.
US President Donald Trump also reacted to the tragedy, acknowledging the efforts of first responders and expressing sorrow over the loss of life. “So sad to see the plane go down in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. More innocent souls lost. Our people are totally engaged,” he wrote on social media.
The incident follows another major aviation disaster earlier in the week, in which an American Airlines passenger plane and a US Army Black Hawk helicopter collided midair over Washington, DC, resulting in 67 fatalities. That accident was the deadliest aviation crash in the United States since 2009.
