According to Ireporter Online, popular Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie has withdrawn all charges against TikTok content creator Eedie Bliss, leading to the latter’s release from police custody on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

Eedie Bliss regained her freedom after several days in detention, following widespread public outcry and condemnation of her arrest on social media platforms. The decision to discontinue the case came shortly after social media critic Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, accused the actress of abusing police powers and described the allegations against the TikToker as a civil matter rather than a criminal offense.

VeryDarkMan joined other Nigerians in calling for Eedie Bliss’s release and warned that continued detention could further damage Mercy Johnson’s public image. Hours later, he confirmed the TikToker’s release on Instagram, expressing gratitude to the actress for dropping the case.

Eedie Bliss had been arrested in connection with a December 2025 TikTok video alleging that Mercy Johnson’s husband, Prince Henry Okojie, purchased a house for a pregnant woman described as his mistress, and claiming that the actress had allegedly conspired to harm the woman. The video sparked public outrage and prompted legal action.
