of security personnel to side with politicians during elections.
“Politicians are not out to serve the people; they’re there to serve their own interests, doing everything possible to skew the process in their favor,” Ejiofor remarked. He further highlighted concerns about impartiality among election officials as Ondo State’s upcoming gubernatorial election on November 16 approaches.
Ejiofor also criticized INEC’s handling of the election process, referencing their pledge to improve after shortcomings in Edo State’s election. He expressed hope that they would conduct a fair and credible election, but pointed to widespread distrust in election and security officials, stating, “Deploy as many as you want—without trust, irregularities will persist.”
Ejiofor emphasized the need to reform the electoral system to ensure that votes are credible, transparent, and representative of the people’s will.
