Minister Momoh Commends Gov. Okpebholo at Commissioning of NDDC-Facilitated Roads in Edo State Polytechnic, Usen(Video)
The Honourable Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh FNSE, on Friday joined the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, at the official commissioning of the newly constructed 5-kilometre internal road network at Edo State Polytechnic, Usen.
The project, facilitated through the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) under the leadership of its Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, is designed to improve accessibility, enhance campus safety, and strengthen the academic environment within the institution.
Governor Okpebholo, who performed the commissioning, described the road infrastructure as a strategic investment in education and community development. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring that institutions across Edo State receive the necessary infrastructural support to thrive, noting that quality roads within educational campuses translate to improved mobility, dignity, and a more conducive learning atmosphere.
In his remarks, Engr. Momoh commended the Governor for his hands-on approach to infrastructure renewal across the state and his dedication to aligning Edo’s development priorities with national objectives. The Minister emphasized that the collaboration between the Federal Government, the NDDC, and the Edo State Government reflects a shared vision for sustainable regional growth.
He reiterated that under the Renewed Hope Agenda, the Ministry of Regional Development remains committed to supporting interventions that directly impact communities, strengthen institutions, and promote inclusive development.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by senior government officials, management of the Polytechnic, traditional leaders, and members of the host community, who described the project as a significant milestone for the institution.
