New Military Spokesman Assumes Office
The newly appointed acting Director of Defence Information of the Military High Command, Major-General Jimmy Akpor, Friday formally assumed duty at the defence headquarters, few days after he was redeployed.

Akpor, who took over from the acting spokesman, Air Commodore Wap Maigida, appealed to the media to help the military in its quest to end the existence of adversaries causing problems in the country.
“Suffice it to mention that while performing its watchdog functions, the media needs to always remember to play the vital role of advancing the course of national security,” he said.
Earlier, Maigida, who has now been posted to Jos, canvassed support for Akpor.
