Newly Elevated Chiefs Must Focus On Advancing Local Development – Olubadan

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, on Friday, charged the newly elevated traditional chiefs to use their new positions to attract more developmental projects to Ibadanland.

He gave this advice during the elevation ceremony of four traditional title holders in the Balogun line.

The chiefs elevated were Chief Adegboyega Adegoke, who was promoted from Aare Onibon Balogun to Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland, Chief Monsor Arulogun was elevated from Bada Balogun to Gbonka Balogun of Ibadanland, Chief Taiwo Akande was advanced from Ajia Balogun to Aare Onibon Balogun of Ibadanland and Chief Ibrahim Babalola who climbed the ladder from Jagun Balogun to Bada Balogun of Ibadanland.

Oba Olakulehin said the promotion of the chiefs was done in order to fill the vacancies in the Balogun line.

The monarch used the medium to appeal to the traditional title holders to use their new positions to attract more developmental projects to the city.

“I am aware that you have been attracting different projects for the development of Ibadanland. I want you not to relent in what you have been doing.

“I want you to use your new promotion to attract more developmental projects to ensure that Ibadan continue to be at the forefront in all areas of human endeavor,” Oba Olakulehin said.
