The State Police Commissioner, Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, announced the ban as part of measures to ensure public safety during the festivities. The ban is intended to thwart the activities of hoodlums who exploit the large gatherings during Eid celebrations to perpetrate attacks.

To bolster security across the state, approximately 2,500 police personnel, along with operational assets, have been deployed to cover Eid grounds, recreation centers, amusement parks, and other public spaces in all 25 local government areas.

The police command has instructed relevant commanders to maintain a visible presence in public areas, conduct patrols to instill confidence, and supervise activities to ensure a peaceful celebration.

Additionally, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has called on Muslims to prioritize prayers for peace and security during Eid-el-Fitr. In a Sallah message, he emphasized the importance of upholding piety, patience, tolerance, and humility beyond the festive period for the betterment of society.
