Nigeria Won’t Get It Right Without …… – Edwin Clark Makes Revelation
Ijaw leader Chief Edwin Clark emphasized the necessity of restructuring for the country to progress successfully.
Speaking in Lagos during the presentation of his autobiography, “Brutally Frank,” on Tuesday, he expressed the view that the current Constitution is fraudulent.

Clark asserted that replacing it with the resolutions from the 2014 constitutional conference is crucial for Nigeria to make progress.
According to him: ” We have no constitution, because the one we have now was forced on us by the military”
He urged the Federal Government to revisit the resolutions outlined in the booklet, addressing the various challenges in the country that were deliberated upon during the conference.
Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka commended Clark as a legendary activist known for expressing his views candidly, regardless of whose interests are affected.
Soyinka, who was represented by Chief Denzil Kentebe, noted that the book will always be a compendium for younger generation, adding that “he cannot wait to read how he tackles some of the history of a society along whose fault lines we have occasionally interacted directly and indirectly “
In his congratulatory message, Prof. Anya O. Anya acknowledged Clark as a legendary figure who dedicated his entire life to the complete liberation of his people. He expressed the belief that Clark’s autobiography would enlighten minds and serve as an inspiration to those who view him as a role model. Anya highlighted that the elderly Clark is a remarkable phenomenon, a divine gift to Nigeria, functioning as a bridge builder and a repository of diverse knowledge.
In his tribute, Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi attributed the success of the 2014 National Conference to Clark’s exceptional leadership skills, ensuring a harmonious atmosphere throughout the conference without any walkouts.
Chief Phillip Asiodu commended Clark for his consistent advocacy for federalism in the country, emphasizing fairness and equity in governance. He noted that Clark’s frankness and persistence have been instrumental in advancing his vision for a more equitable nation.
