NNPC Declares Port Harcourt Refinery As Global Leader In Oil Refining
The Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) has confirmed that the Port Harcourt Refinery, which resumed operations earlier this week, adheres to international best practices in its operations. Olufemi Soneye…..READ MORE
the Chief Corporate Communications Officer (CCCO) of NNPCL, stated that the refinery is producing high-quality petroleum products in strict accordance with global standards.
In a statement shared on his official X handle, Soneye assured that, following the ceremonial truck load-out, regular loading operations have continued without issues. He emphasized that trucks are now being loaded daily to ensure a stable and reliable supply chain.
Soneye also urged Nigerians to ignore misleading reports regarding the refinery’s operations, stressing that the Port Harcourt Refinery remains dedicated to transparency, excellence, and meeting the country’s energy needs.
NNPCL had previously dismissed claims made by the refinery’s host community, Alesa Stakeholders, which suggested that the refinery had not yet begun operations. Timothy Mbere, the Secretary of Alesa Stakeholders, alleged that the products promoted by NNPCL were simply old stock from storage, not new production from the refinery itself.
