The actor took to his Instagram page to narrate the tragic incident, expressing profound sadness over the unfortunate events that unfolded.
According to Salami, the accident resulted in the loss of six lives, with several others sustaining serious injuries and requiring hospitalization.
In his post, Salami attributed the cause of the accident to the driver’s drunkenness and reckless driving. Despite passengers’ attempts to caution the driver, he remained defiant, insisting on his competency behind the wheel.
“I cried like a baby,” Salami wrote. “Yesterday was a very sad day as I witnessed a gory-looking fatal accident along the Ibadan/Lagos expressway. I was in tears while I watched many fight for their lives in pain.”
He urged against driving under the influence of alcohol, emphasizing the devastating consequences that can arise from such actions.
Salami expressed gratitude to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for their prompt response and assistance, as well as to concerned citizens and medical personnel who rendered aid during the ordeal.
He concluded his message with a prayer for the departed souls and a plea for safety on the roads, hoping that accidents would not befall anyone else.
“May accident not be our portion,” Salami wrote. “Let’s always remember to thank God for going out and returning home safe.”
