According to reports, the conflict erupted when Dankarami, another prominent bandit leader, allegedly stole cattle belonging to Sani Dangote’s faction, sparking a violent confrontation. Gunfire exchanged between the two groups led to the demise of numerous bandits.

While the Zamfara State police command has yet to confirm the incident, sources within the security sector revealed details of the clash, highlighting the ongoing turmoil within the region’s criminal underworld.

In a separate incident, bandits reportedly attacked and killed dozens of members of the vigilante group ‘Yan Sa Kai’ in the Dogon-Dawa community of Mariga LGA, Niger State. The vigilantes, who had tracked the bandits to their hideout, were ambushed during their operation.

Chairman Abbas Kasuwar Garba expressed concern over the resurgence of attacks in the area, noting that the region had enjoyed relative peace before the recent incidents. While search and rescue operations continue, authorities are urged to address the escalating security challenges to restore peace and safeguard residents’ livelihoods.
