Obasanjo Honors Jimmy Carter  In Memorial

Carter, who passed away on December 29, 2024, at the age of 100, was a close ally of Obasanjo. He holds the distinction of being the longest-living U.S. president and the first to reach the milestone of 100 years.

The service will take place at the Chapel of Christ, The Glorious King, within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, starting at 9:00 AM. Rev. Israel Akanji, President of the Baptist Convention, is set to deliver a special sermon during the event.

In a statement released by Kehinde Akinyemi, Obasanjo’s Special Assistant on Media, the former president is also expected to deliver a tribute titled “Jimmy Carter: The Departure of a Titan.
