due to alleged manipulations by Governor Obaseki during the PDP’s senatorial primaries last year.

Ononamemen, also a governorship aspirant, disclosed to the press in Abuja that Obaseki’s interference in the PDP’s senatorial primaries led him to exit the party.

He recounted winning the primaries with 90% of the votes, only to face opposition from Obaseki, who backed a candidate that hadn’t participated in the primaries.

Despite legal efforts up to the Supreme Court, the judgment favored Obaseki’s candidate, prompting Ononamemen’s decision to leave.

He expressed confidence in winning the APC governorship primary, emphasizing that his recent entry into the party would not be a disadvantage.

Ononamemen highlighted the shared political history among APC members, many of whom were once part of the PDP in Edo State.

He affirmed a lack of discrimination among them, considering the familiar faces within the party.

In his view, the political transition does not make him feel like a newcomer, as they share a collective political background.
