Ooni, Disu, Tompolo, Others Set To Receive Transparency Award
According to Ireporter Online, the organisers of the National Hero Transparency Awards 2026 have released the official list of distinguished Nigerians selected for recognition in this year’s edition of the ceremony, which aims to honour individuals promoting integrity, accountability and transparent leadership across different sectors.
Leading the nominees are Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, widely acknowledged for his cultural diplomacy, interfaith engagement and youth empowerment initiatives, as well as Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, Chairman of Tantita Security Services. Others on the list include Emomotimi Agama, Mojisola Adeyeye, Maruf Olatunji Alausa, Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, Adaora Umeoji, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi and several other prominent figures across governance, security, finance and public service.
Also nominated are Tunji Disu, Abisoye Coker-Odusote, Justice G. M. Umar, Tola Odeyemi, Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, Abubakar Dantsoho, Tosin Eniolorunda, Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, Leonard Obie, Folashade Olukoya, Samuel Ogbuku, Ahmed Mohamed Sanusi, Zubaida Umar, Dr. Owen D. Omogiafo and Dr. Jide Idris, among others.
The organisers also confirmed that former Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture, Olusegun Runsewe, will serve as the Guest Speaker at the event. The award ceremony is scheduled to hold on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the Lagos Airport Hotel, Lagos.
Chairman of the National Hero Transparency Awards, Tim Okojie Ave, noted that the initiative is designed to spotlight individuals and institutions whose work has strengthened public trust and promoted positive national development, stressing that ethical leadership remains critical in today’s society.
