Pastor And Three Others Abducted By Gunmen In Abuja Community

Gunmen, suspected to be kidnappers, have struck the Bmuko community in the Dutse Baupma axis of the Bwari area council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), abducting four residents.

Reports indicate that the armed assailants, numbering over 30, launched the attack on Monday night, April 29, 2024.

According to Mr. Isah, a resident of the community, the invasion commenced around 11:50 pm at the residence of Engineer Patrick. The gunmen, after breaking into the house, abducted his wife and brother.

The assailants, divided into two groups, proceeded to kidnap additional victims. One group headed towards the riverside leading to Kubwa and Bwari, while the other moved towards the hillside, seizing a Pastor and another young man from a nearby house.

Speaking anonymously, a community leader recounted hearing gunshots minutes before midnight. Swift action was taken by security personnel, including intervention from the FCDA Police station and soldiers, yet no arrests were made.

Efforts to locate the abducted individuals proved challenging, with soldiers and policemen conducting searches in the bush.

Residents emphasized the urgent need for a Police outpost in the Bmuko community to enhance security presence. They expressed hope for the safe rescue of the kidnapped victims, including Engineer Patrick’s wife and brother, along with the abducted Pastor.

The gravity of the situation was underscored by the discovery of AK47 bullets, indicating the firepower possessed by the kidnappers. As the community awaits further developments, prayers for the safety of the abducted individuals remain fervent.
