Police Arrest 51 Eiye Confraternity Members During Anniversary In Delta

The Delta State Police Command’s Buffalo Patrol team, operatives from Area Command Ogwashi-Uku have arrested fifty-one suspected cultists, alleged to be members of the Eiye Confraternity.

They were arrested during their anniversary at the Ogwashi-Uku community.

The Police also recovered two cut-to-size locally made guns, one expended cartridge and Eiye Confraternity regalia.

The Delta State Police Command led by CP Ari Muhammed Ali confirmed the report in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.

The Police image maker said, “CP Ari Muhammed Ali detailed the Command’s Buffalo Patrol team, operatives from Area Command Ogwashi-Uku and Ogwashi-Uku Division, who stormed the venue at Big Apple Hotel in Ogwashi-Uku.”

According to him, “The suspects on sighting the police took to their heels, while some of them shot at the Police.

“They were given a hot chase by the team and fifty-one (51) suspected cultists were arrested”.

DSP Edafe noted that the suspects have been transferred to the Command Anti-Cult unit (SACU) for investigation saying, “Those found wanting upon completion of investigations, will be charged to court.”
